Optimize and convert images using a drag and drop interface

Compress features a simple and intuitive drag and drop user interface which makes it as fast as possible to start optimizing your pictures in batches even if you don’t have any previous experience in compressing images using your Mac.

As a bonus, the Compress utility also comes with a dark user interface designed to match macOS’ dark menu bar and dock and protect your eyes if you are working late hours on a daily basis.

To start compressing and converting images with the help of Compress, you can select your files using the Finder or drag and drop them on its main window to start the optimization process.

Customize the compression level and save output files to a folder of your choice

Once the compression process ends, the Compress app will automatically display how much disk space it has freed for by optimizing the files and, depending on your settings, will allow you to save the optimized images.

On this screen, Compress also show you if it hasn’t been able to process some of your files and enables you to start compressing another batch of images by clicking the “Start Over” button.

It’s also important to mention that you can choose where Compress will save the processed pictures, set the PNG compression level to a higher level, and choose the JPEG quality of the output files via its Preferences window.
